The School of Life
The First School of Biodanza in the United Kingdom was opened in 1993 by Patricia Martello and is based in London.
The development, aims and successes of this School are outstanding in the map of Biodanza worldwide.
This has meant a growth and spread of the Biodanza System through many Schools all over the world, raising the standards of the Training Course to the highest levels of understanding and practice of the Biodanza System.
The first School of Biodanza in the United Kingdom (based in London), aims at training Biodanza Teachers.
A new profession which developes and establishes a different pedagogy in the art of affective communication and of the profound joy of living in harmony with the Universe.
The School’s unique Programme involves a rigorous training in the “Vivencia” (living experience) and a theoretical training about the effects of the Biodanza exercises on health and life style.
The cycle of training includes weekend courses, seminars, apprenticeships under supervision and the writing of a monograph.
The Director of the School is Patricia Martello and the Coordinator is Marcelo Di Matteo. The Sub-Coordinator Tutor is David Brown.
The School of Biodanza in the UK is member of the I.C.M. (The Institute for Complementary Medicine), and the BWA (Biodanza World Association).
Under the energetic and creative power of its Director, Patricia Martello, the School has re-created itself many times in each new cycle of the training program.
Different projects, new challenges and the incorporation of the latest developments of the Biodanza System have always been within the aims of this School of Life.
Patricia understands the School of Biodanza as an open and “alive” organism.
An example of the open participation y sense of togetherness is the introduction of the Tutor Training Course for new Teachers and Students under supervision, within the worldwide program of “ongoing training” proposed by Rolando during the 2002 Biodanza Conference in Austria.
Another aspect of solidarity between the School and the Biodanza Teachers is the shared aims and objectives with The Guild of Biodanza Professionals according to the Biocentric Principle.
The introduction of Biodanza within the network of Colleges of Adult Education is the result of the serious commitment of the School to open new work places within the Communities all over the UK.
The support for the local Didactic Biodanza Teachers to open new Schools of Biodanza where previously non existed before, has put the dream of spreading the Biodanza System worldwide into practice.
The creation of the Mandala Project is the possibility of opening spaces of solidarity, togetherness and love in action and introducing new people to Biodanza at the same time.
This School of Biodanza in London has provided a unique dimension in the development and spread of the Biodanza System in a caring framework, as never before in Biodanza
